The L’Enfants are excited to be back for our first event of 2021! We invite you to participate in socially-distant sketching on the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral. Designed in a 14th century English Gothic style, the building is the 6th largest Cathedral in the world and 3rd largest church building in the United States. Unfortunately, severe damages from the 2011 earthquake have required that some stone elements from the towers be removed to the ground for repair. This offers a unique opportunity to sketch details of finials, gargoyles and sculptures that are normally far out of view.

We will meet at 10 am outside of the Starbucks at 3430 Wisconsin Ave NW and sketch until about 1pm.  Those riding Metro should take Red Line to either Cleveland Park or Teneytown, both of which are a 20 minute walk to the Starbucks. Paid Parking is available at the cathedral for those who prefer to drive.
