Join the ICAA for an evening with architectural historian Branko Mitrovic, author of ‘Learning from Palladio’ and ‘Andrea Palladio, Villa Cornaro in Piombino Dese’.  Palladio, arguably the most influential architect of the Italian Renaissance, makes him particularly interesting to contemporary architects for his extensive opus and great variety of projects.  This lecture is intended to analyze the development of his approach to design in the context of his time and biography.

Dr. Branko Mitrovic received his PhD in both architecture and philosophy, and currently is a professor of architectural history and theory at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.  He has been the recipient of the Humboldt Research Award as well as research fellowships from Harvard University, the Canadian Centre for Architecture, the Humboldt Foundation, The National Gallery (CASVA), and the Clark Art Institute.  He has authored 2 books on Palladio as well as 5 other books on architectural history and theory.
