Ankie Barnes FAIA, BarnesVanze Architects, practicing residential architect, amateur Architectural Historian and Lutyens specialist will lecture on the Arts and Crafts houses of Sir Edwin Lutyens in the context of the Arts and Crafts movement in England. This includes the importance of his working partnership with garden designer Gertrude Jekyll. Includes the contribution of other significant architects working in the idiom like Phillip Webb and Charles Voysey.
Mr. Barnes has spoken and lead tours on the architectural history of Georgetown DC, the work of Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker and has lead architectural tours of Lutyens’ work in the UK. He also serves as an Advisory Board member of the Lutyens Trust America (LTA), is a Trustee of the WMA Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art (ICAA) and the Design Leadership Committee (DLN).
