Early Classicism in Delaware

Join the ICAA to tour four historic Federal houses in Odessa, Delaware. This tour is managed by the Historic Odessa Foundation (HOF).

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Tour the houses with local docents which will also include landscape architects Jennifer Horn, Robert Bell of Bell Design, Inc., and Emily T. Cooperman, M.S., Ph.D., discussing the gardens.

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Lunch at Cantwell’s Tavern in Odessa. The menus will be sent to attendees ahead of time, and lunch is included in the ticket price.

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Tour of the George Read II House & Gardens in New Castle conducted by Director Brenton Grom.

4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. A reception in the garden during a panel discussion on the importance of historic landscapes by our landscape architects.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation. For those who wish to spend the night before, or after, accommodations can be had at the Hotel Dupont in Wilmington and other hotels in the area.
