The WMA ICAA and Red Leaf Stone Congratulate 2017 Winners of the John Russell Pope Awards

The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art Washington Mid Atlantic Chapter celebrated the 2017 John Russell Pope Awards on April 21 at the prestigious Cosmos Club in Washington, DC.

The trophies for the 2017 John Russell Pope Awards were crafted and donated by Platinum-level sponsor Red Leaf Stone. Architect John B. Murray designed the John Russell Pope trophy prior to the inaugural 2015 awards program.

The strong yet elegant plinth that comprises the trophy was inspired by John Russell Pope’s monumental civic architecture. Red Leaf Stone’s skilled artisans precisely machined and hand finished the trophies in buff, Texas Lueders limestone.

Based in Vancouver, Red Leaf Stone fabricates, imports, and distributes natural stone products and masonry supplies to Canada and the United States. The company works in natural stone (limestone, marble, granite and sandstone) producing elements such as stone cladding, flooring, pavers, fireplace mantels, moldings, accents, copings and more. Carvings are also a specialty, having won the Marble Institute of America’s 2016 Natural Stone Craftsman of the Year award.

Red Leaf Stone was proud to sponsor the 2017 John Russell Pope Awards.
