Join the ICAA Washington Mid Atlantic Chapter for a springtime tour of Meridian Hill Park.
Located on the longitude of the original district milestone marker, the park was first a site of a private mansion, then later a retirement home for John Quincy Adams. After later being converted to national parkland, George Burnap and Horace Peaslee created the garden’s Italian style and were among the first to use concrete aggregate for much of the park’s hardscape. With 13 basins, the park’s cascading water element is the largest in North America.
Cost: $15 L’enfants, $25 members, $30 non members
