11:00am - 2:30pm
Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery
Columns & Coffee is a monthly social sketching excursion led by the L’Enfants, the emerging architects branch of the ICAA-WMA. Anyone with an interest in sketching and/or connecting with other artists and architects are encouraged to attend. This month, we will be sketching at the National Portrait Gallery in Chinatown.
The Portrait Gallery is located in a mid-19th century Greek revival building that was once home to the US Patent Office. As a part of the Smithsonian network of musuems, it is free and open to the public, so participants are encouraged to explore the interiors and the courtyard for creative inspiration. Participants should be prepared to bring their own materials.
We will meet at Bakers & Baristas at the corner of 7th and E St NW at 11am. Please note that this is one hour later than usual. We will be sketching for about 2.5-3 hours, but people are welcome to come and go as they please.
