Education is the cornerstone of the ICAA’s mission and the primary focus of our programming. Through continuing education courses, intensives, and growing partnerships with middle schools, high schools and universities, the ICAA provides quality education in classical design. It is through the support and active participation of our patrons and sponsors that we are able to bring successful programs and new initiatives to the public.

New Heights

In early spring 2017, all 160-plus Middle School girls at the National Cathedral School (NCS) participated in a week-long immersion course on Classical Architecture sponsored and presented by the ICAA, entitled New Heights. This program has several goals, among them to heighten these young women’s curiosity about and understanding of the built environment, their place in it and the role classical architecture and art plays in the formation of our buildings and cities. It engaged them through a mix of sketching, local tours, hands-on plaster molding and lectures.
